Radhanath Swami's autobiography, 'The Journey Home', is a stunning account of magical personalities, some of whom the world would have perhaps never even known. All throughout his travel from Luxemburg to the Himalayas, Radhanath Swami kept on coming across these figures at regular intervals to add to his understanding of the true nature of God and religion. Of the numerous personalities he met while in the Himalayas was Anandamayi Ma, a name that was given to her by her devotees in the 1920s to describe what they saw as her habitual state of divine joy and bliss. Born in 1896 at Kheora (in present day Bangladesh), she exhibited qualities of spiritual tranquility ever since her childhood.
