98 – Mother Nature and God

You never fully appreciate the need for conveniently located Handicapped Parking spaces until you are handicapped. A while back, the DMV issued me a placard so as to be able to avail of handicapped parking facilities that makes trips out so much more practical and enjoyable.

Since my temporary handicapped parking placard was about to expire, I had to go by the office of the surgeon here in town that I originally went to upon my return from Peru.

You might recall that this is the first of two orthopedic surgeons who concluded that I would definitely require further surgery and a bone graft on my leg.

This surgeon, who has not seen me since I switched to consulting with a doctor in Mexico, examined my recent x-rays and then my leg, and was amazed at the bone growth taking place and my range of motion, and just in general how my leg has healed without surgery.

After seeming to be at a loss for words, he exclaimed, "Mother Nature has really been good to you!"

I felt this was the opportunity to respond, “Well, I guess different people use different terminology to describe the same event, but I attribute the healing of my leg to the Lord's healing power and the power of prayer.”
