Above All Else

Seek the Kingdom of God above all else, and live righteously, and he will give you everything you need. “So don’t Worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries. Today’s trouble is enough for today.
—Matthew 6:33-34 (NLT)

God wants us to know that we can trust him when things are going wrong just as much as we can trust him when things are going right. Today, God will give you the grace to handle whatever today brings. Tomorrow, God will give you the grace to handle whatever tomorrow brings. Never worry. We can only take life one day at a time. The God who has brought you this far is going to continue keeping you, providing for you, and protecting you. Just remember to put God first in all your endeavors.

Why does it benefit us to put God first? With God, we can stay grounded and sober-minded, no matter how bad things get or no matter how good things get. If God’s plan for your life ever takes you from the mountain to the valley, with God, you will not forget who you are or lose your Identity in a low place. Your identity is rooted in Him. If you ever go from the valley to the mountain top, with God, you still will not forget who you are or lose your identity in a high place. In a high place, your identity is still rooted in Him.

God’s principles, promises, and provision are constant in life and can always be relied upon, no matter where we might find ourselves. Seek the Kingdom of God first, as well as His righteousness, and everything you need will be added to you. You do not have to worry about what tomorrow might bring. With God, tomorrow is already taken care of. So focus on showing up for today; being present in every moment, and following God’s leading. Seek God first, even before you seek the things you want and need. God is the One who leads us to things that are best for us.

Lots of Love, XO
