Am I The Distraction?

Funny story: I was in Starbucks with a friend and the barista started giving us a pretty hard time. Apparently, she thought we were asking for an extra shot of espresso without wanting to pay for it. Anyway, as the intensity of the conversation escalated, I plainly asked my friend not to engage her, because.. eh, not worth it..  Do you know how my friend answered me after that? Would you believe she accused me of being one of her super holy friends? LOL - Not A Fact.

So this was my response to her: "Girl, what if one day she comes to the church and sees me leading Worship and remembers that I'm the girl who fought with her over an espresso drink at Starbucks?!" That would be something, huh? 🏃🏾‍♀️😂

I've learned that we would never know who we would find sitting in the congregation seats on any given Sunday. As much as it depends on us, we should try not to be the excuse people use for not wanting to worship. Of course, there will always be people who magnify what they like or don't like about us as individuals... for reasons many times beyond our knowledge or control. However, as much as it is dependent on us, let us do our best to help and not hinder people's ability to focus solely on God as we worship together with them.
