You are quite right that on the philosophical level the concept is always a symbol even though it is an expression for something known.

I absolutely agree with you when you understand knowing at the same time as not-knowing, but one must go pretty far before one finds people who admit that this is so.

Your view fully accords with the standpoint of St. Paul that thinking opens the way to God.

“For the spirit,” as Paul says, “searcheth . . . the deep things of God.” [1 Cor. 2:10.]

What you say about the theoretical development of my empirical views is also very true.

I found long ago that further building needed to be done. But I am still working on the foundations.
