A visibly frail president Milos Zeman sets a gigantic pair of red underpants on fire
Milos Zeman, the Czech Republic president, is known for showing hostility towards journalists and writers. So, when the 73-year-old leader abruptly announced a press conference on Thursday afternoon, no one really knew what to expect. It only raised speculation about his possible resignation.
Bizarrely, at the press conference, he taunted them by saying he regretted making them look like 'little idiots.' He also set a huge pair of red underpants on fire.
The Czech president full statement :
'I apologise to the journalists whose intelligence I tested, unsuccessfully as always. The time of underwear in politics is over. I'm sorry to make you look like little idiots, you really don't deserve it.' He was then driven away in his car.
At the the briefing at the gardens of Prague Castle, he was flanked by his spokesman, assistants and several firemen.
A staunchly pro-Russian and pro-Chinese leader, president Zeman once dubbed journalists 'manure' and 'superficial.' He told Russian President Vladimir Putin in China in May 2017 that 'journalists should be liquidated'.
