Seek Truth

Tags: truth love seek
How do you go about seeking the truth? What is the truth? Both of these are important questions to tackle as we figure out our lives, what we believe and what we need to attest to. When you look between a Catholic and an Atheist, there are going to be different ideas of Truth when it comes to religious beliefs. I bet that both can agree on certain truths about life and living though, such as the differences between right and wrong actions, the significance of relationships, and the ideology that there must be something better in life. All of these come from our morals, our conscience, all things that guide us towards living a good life, and give us the yearning to seek God. We are constantly seeking truth, meaning and understanding. God gives us the way, the truth, and the life, through Jesus, His Son, brining us into relationship with God. What do you believe to be truth?
Today's Reading states:'I rejoiced greatly to find some of your children following the truth, just as we have been commanded by the Father. And now I beg you, lady, not as though I were writing you a new commandment, but the one we have had from the beginning, that we Love one another. And this is love, that we follow his commandments; this is the commandment, as you have heard from the beginning, that you follow love. For many deceivers have gone out into the world, men who will not acknowledge the coming of Jesus Christ in the flesh; such a one is the deceiver and the antichrist. Look to yourselves, that you may not lose what you have worked for, but may win a full reward. Any one who goes ahead and does not abide in the doctrine of Christ does not have God; he who abides in the doctrine has both the Father and the Son' (2 John 4-9).
Today's reading talks about how seeking the truth comes when when seek God. God tells us through prophets, through Jesus, that His way is the truth, is the meaning and purpose for life. Through Him, we learn that the purpose of life itself is to love everyone, that we were made to love, by our very design. If we try to turn from God, turn towards sin, temptations, hate, we are going against our purpose, and will not find truth. We won't be able to fill the longing for love. Take some time to ask God to help you seek truth through His love.
Today we pray:
Heavenly Father,
Thank You for giving me my life, my purpose, this ability to seek You and to love. Help me to seek Your truth, and bring others into knowing Your truths and life.
I pray in Your most holy name, Amen.
