Love surpasses knowledge. Many would attest to this statement, looking back at some of the big disputes within Catholicism, such as the significance of faith and reason. The argument for centuries was that you need faith, or you need reason more, not both in an equal status. Faith is religious, believing in the unseen, having hope, and love beyond understanding. Reason is having the natural human ability to know, to understand, to comprehend and test things, often tied in with philosophical thought. However, God teaches us that we need to reason, as we are given as part of being human, but it is important to trust, and have faith in God's will, even if we cannot see or understand it. Here, we find the core that stabilizes this bond, this trust and element of faith: love. God loved us so much that He sent Jesus to bring us salvation, to restore us and welcome us into relationship. Are you willing to take the step to let love surpass your knowledge, and trust in God?

Today's Second Reading states:'To me, though I am the very least of all the saints, this grace was given, to preach to the Gentiles the unsearchable riches of Christ, and to make all men see what is the plan of the mystery hidden for ages in God who created all things; that through the church the manifold wisdom of God might now be made known to the principalities and powers in the heavenly places. This was according to the eternal purpose which he has realized in Christ Jesus our Lord, in whom we have boldness and confidence of access through our faith in him. For this reason I bow my knees before the Father, from whom every family in heaven and on earth is named, that according to the riches of his glory he may grant you to be strengthened with might through his Spirit in the inner man, and that Christ may dwell in your hearts through faith; that you, being rooted and grounded in love, may have power to comprehend with all the saints what is the breadth and length and height and depth, and to know the love of Christ which surpasses knowledge, that you may be filled with all the fulness of God' (Ephesians 3:8-12, 14-19).

In today's Reading, we hear about how God makes known God's self to the people. Not all things are revealed, as it's a definite understanding that God is a mystery, there is so much we don't know, and cannot hope to know or understand, as we are only human. By bringing Jesus into the world, God gives a piece of God's self to humanity, in order to understand our purpose and how God is present, is all-knowing and loving and giving to us. God gives us the ability to know and be knowledgable, yet not be all-knowing, as we are always learning more. Therefore, love surpasses the knowledge, as we love trust and hope in God's will for us. Take some time to thank God for the ability to love and be loved.

Thank You Father that You have made Yourself known to humanity through the Word of God. But forgive us Lord, for we are a rebellious and prideful race and yet You loved us so much that You sent Your only begotten Son to lay down His sinless life as the perfect sacrifice for our sin.. so that by that death and resurrection, all who believe on Him might not perish, but have everlasting life.

Thank You that in Your love You chose to communicate with us, by the word, by Your holy apostles and prophets and revealed to us Your glorious plan of salvation, so that whoever believes on the Lord Jesus Christ would not be condemned - but whosoever does not believe in the only begotten Son of God is condemned already - because he has not believed on the sinless Son of Your love - Who loved us so much that He willingly went to the cross to redeem us from the penalty of sin, and reconcile us back to You eternal. Thank You that Your Word to us is like a perfumed love-letter that has been forwarded from heaven to all Your children - in love. Thank You for the truth it contains and thank You for all Your perfect and unconditional love and grace towards Your children. May we assimilate these truths deep within the bowels of our soul and glorify Your name for the unconditional love that You have seen fit to pour our on all Your children..by grace, through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ - in Whose name we pray, Amen
