Do we take the time to seek God's love, truly? Not praying while binging Netflix right, or talking to your neighbour during the Eucharistic celebration in mass, that's not taking the time to seek God. We can always pray, always find time to be alone and listen, be with God. When we are in God's presence, standing before the altar, before Jesus, do we take in the importance of the moment? Do we recall Jesus' sacrifice on the cross, his life of liberating the poor and oppressed, his teachings about God and how we need to change?

Today's Gospel states:'Then the disciples of John came to him, saying, "Why do we and the Pharisees fast, but your disciples do not fast?" And Jesus said to them, "Can the wedding guests mourn as long as the bridegroom is with them? The days will come, when the bridegroom is taken away from them, and then they will fast'(Matthew 9:14-15).

In today's Gospel, we hear how we need to be present with God. If we don't take that time, then we never will, and we become slackers. That doesn't mean we don't find faith important, it just means it gets lower and lower on the list. When we listen to God's teachings, and are truly present, then we learn to practice them daily, such as that of liberation and helping the poor. If we don't listen to God's call to give them aid, there is no justice within society. Letting God be present brings about a greater, more joyful and just world. Take some time to ask God o be present, and to help you listen to His call.
