Living Life In The Word Lesson 7: Don't Worry About It (Part 2)

Theme Scripture: Psalms 37: 3-6
"Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed. Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart. Commit thy way unto the Lord; and trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. And he shall bring forth thy righteousness as the light, and thy judgment as the noonday."

In part one of this lesson, Don't Worry About It, we discussed worrying and the reason why we shouldn't worry. We talked about how those who seek to do evil unto you will be destroyed by God. In part two, we will discuss the benefits of not worrying.
Verse 3 says, "Trust in the Lord, and do good; so shalt thou dwell in the land, and verily thou shalt be fed."
The psalmist reminds us to trust God in our situation. Let go of all your struggles and problems and hand them over to the Lord. Believe and have faith that God will come through for you. Have faith in God even though the facts go against it. Trust him when you can't trace him. Sometimes, it can be hard to trust God, but when you trust God, he rewards you for doing so. Once we trust God, then it becomes easy to do good in reason of your heart is filled with hope and joy and gladness that you can't help but make other people feel the same way you are feeling. Your cup runs over with gladness and thanksgiving and praise that you start acting different. Doing good is a by-product of trusting in God. You start being jubilant and happy because you trust God to come though for you. Worrying is nothing but a device of the enemy to sap your joy, your peace, and your praise. However, when you trust God in your situation, you defeat the enemy and retain the very things which the enemy was trying to steal from you. When you trust God, you take a load off your back and your life becomes easier. The bible says in 1 Peter 5:7, " Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you." How awesome it is to know that the Father, The King of the Universe, cares for us and wants us to give all our problems to him in trust!
When we trust God, we shall live and thrive in the earth and constantly be fed. Why? It's because God is taking care of us. God takes care of us when we trust him because your problem becomes his problem. And we all know that what God does, he does it well. Therefore, you can expect with certainty and rest assured that God will become Jehovah Jireh ( God my provider) in your life. You will thrive while others struggle. Why? It's because, once again, you trust in the Almighty God!
What does delight mean. Delight means to take great pleasure in. When we delight ourselves in God, we take pleasure in him. We enjoy him and his presence. You love constantly being near him and talking to him. You take joy in him. When we do that, God will then give us anything that we desire. That's a part of the relationship and friendship side of God. When you constantly hang around your friend or family member, they will constantly hang around you. Eventually, they will do things for you just because you are their friend. That's how God works. James 4:8 says, "Draw nigh to God, and he will draw nigh to you."  When you draw near to God, he will draw near to you and do things for you that he wouldn't do for others, simply because you are his friend! What a privilege to have Jesus as our friend!

Commit means to pledge or bind a person to a certain course or policy. It simply means to dedicate. Dedicate your life to God. The famous hymn says, " I have decided to follow Jesus... no turning back, no turning back..." We must make a decision to pick up our cross, deny our self , and follow Jesus ( Matthew 16:24). We must make up in our minds and hearts to accept Jesus into our lives and go all the way with him. We cannot look back to the world, sin, and pleasures of the devil. When his presence comes in our lives, we do not have the desire to go back to our past life, as William McDowell sings " I won't go back- can't go back- to the way it use to be before your presence came and changed me." The psalmist constantly telling us to trust in God lets us know that trusting in him is a extremely important thing. We must trust in him. Without trust, you have nothing. Trust is what keeps a relationship going. Before you loved God, you first had to trust him. Trust is vital, to you and to God. Therefore, when you pledge you live to him as well as trust him, then he will answer your prayers.
The bible says that we are the light of the world and that we should let our light shine before men that they will see us and glorify God ( Matthew 5: 14, 16). When we do as he says and trust him, he will bring to the forefront of the world our right living. When you constantly live in worry, that is not right living because worrying isn't right. A lot of people say that everybody worries and that is true. However, because everybody does it doesn't make it right. A lot of people smoke, drink, curse, partake in immoral activities, but that doesn't mean that all those things are right because they aren't. Just like worrying. Worrying is just as bad as drugs, alcohol, and all the other sins of the world. Worrying leads to fear and fear has torment (1 John 4:18). When you worry, you do things you wouldn't and shouldn't  do and that's is not right. However, trusting leads to peace and blessings. When you live a life that is not filled with worrying, it becomes easier to live right and your right living will be shown to all men. The world is filled with worry, as we can see. However, when we live lives not filled with worry, people will gravitate to us and ask the question, "Why aren't you worrying." Then that would be the perfect time to witness and tell them about the Prince of Peace, Jesus Christ. See how that plays out when you don't worry?
When you don't worry, you think clearly. Therefore that causes your choices ( judgment) to be clear and seen all over (noonday) because while everybody else is not using wisdom, you would be using wisdom and people will attract to you and marvel at the things of God and begin to praise him and, ultimately, serve him, just like King Solomon.
To put it in a nutshell, trust God and he will take care of the rest!
