[Pre-Ramadan Bootcamp] Ep 21: Build a Mental Model for Ramadan

In the second season of the Productive Muslim Podcast, we go through the Pre- Ramadan Bootcamp with our host, Mifrah Mahroof. The purpose of this bootcamp is to help you prepare for Ramadan spiritually, physically and socially so that when Ramadan begins you will be in a better position to make the most out of it.

One of the ways to ensure that you lead a productive Ramadan is to imagine what each day of Ramadan would look like hour by hour. In psychology circles, this is called “Developing a Mental Model“; it’s what athletes do before a race, or pilots do before flying a plane. They imagine all the possibilities of how their race/flight would look like and all the scenarios that might go wrong and what they’ll do if things do go wrong.

So how do you practically apply this in Ramadan:

  1. Download the ProductiveRamadan Ultimate Taskinator
  2. Fill out the first 3 days of Ramadan and what it’ll typically look like. Plan each of the 3 days hour by hour.
  3. Ask yourself: What could go wrong with my plan? And what will I do about it if things go wrong?

Looking forward to seeing your routines hour by hour, in the comments section below!

Thank you for listening!
