2018 Lions preseason finalized: Dates, times, TV schedule

The Lions’ full 2018 Schedule is now set.

Oddly enough, the NFL’s preseason schedule is not completely finalized until after the regular season schedule comes out. Though the teams and the weeks of each exhibition game were announced a few weeks ago, it wasn’t until Wednesday morning that the entire dates and times of each game were announced.

Here is the Detroit Lions’ full preseason schedule, as confirmed by the team.

Week 1: Friday, August 10 at Oakland Raiders — 10:30 p.m. ET
TV: WJBK-TV FOX 2 (locally only)

Week 2: Friday, August 17 vs. New York Giants — 7 p.m. ET
TV: WJBK-TV FOX 2 (locally only)

Week 3: Friday, August 24 at Tampa Bay Buccaneers — 8 p.m. ET
TV: CBS (nationally)

Week 4: Thursday, August 30 vs. Cleveland Browns — 7 p.m.
TV: WJBK-TV FOX 2 (locally only)

A few important things to note here. First, the Lions will kick off the preseason with a west coast trip, meaning fans are going to have to stay up a little late on a Friday night to watch Matt Patricia coach his first game as a Lion. Additionally, there is only one nationally televised game in the bunch, but it’s the all-important dress rehearsal game against the Buccaneers.

Now, Detroit’s full 2018 schedule is completely set. For a look at the Lions’ regular season schedule, click here.
