Bob Quinn doesn’t seem to eager to draft a running back.
- File this under: COULD VERY WELL BE A SMOKESCREEN, but Detroit Lions general manager Bob Quinn made it sound like he’s in no hurry to grab a running back in next week’s draft. Here’s what Quinn said during his Thursday press conference:
“I think we have enough running backs to be competitive. Now, is that saying I’m not going to take one? I don’t know, tell me who’s going to be on the board in the second, third, fourth round. I mean, I don’t know.”
He not-so-subtly left out the first round there. Hmmmmmm.

- The Lions are already six-point favorites in Week 1 against the Jets:

- Pro Football Focus listed all 32 teams’ needs going into next week’s NFL Draft. Their top need for the Detroit Lions... cornerback?
- The Chicago Bears announced their 2018 schedule with a pretty cool superhero-themed video. Their Lions villain picture is pretty bad-ass, too:

- The folks over at The Athletic put together an all-time Detroit Lions mock draft, featuring the best players to ever don the Honolulu Blue. It’s a pretty neat article, especially since they got guys like Dan Orlovsky and Mike O’Hara to play GM.
- Here’s a quick roundup of way-too-early predictions for the Lions:
- Detroit Free Press: 9-7
- MLive: 9-7 and 9-7
- ESPN: 9-7
Okay then.
