Notes: Lions quarterbacks, special teams ranked top 10 per USA TODAY

The Lions have a few top 10 units, according to USA TODAY.

  • USA TODAY’s Nate Davis is ranking every team’s positional units. The Detroit Lions came in at ninth in both quarterbacks and special teams. Davis said of Matthew Stafford, “He's added the ability to consistently come through for his team in the clutch, putting that rocket arm and all of those unbelievable off-platform throws to good use.”

  • Now that his NFL career appears to be over, former Lions quarterback Dan Orlovsky went back to UConn to finish his degree. Mike DiMauro of The Day has the full story.

  • Need something to watch Tuesday night? Why not relive the Lions’ 2016 season?

  • Lions defensive end Brandon Copeland joined the Ross Tucker Football podcast to discuss his road to the NFL, his love of special teams and his financial endeavors.

  • Nate Atkins went through the entire Lions 2017 schedule and gave a reason why Detroit could win or lose every single game.

  • Golden Tate had himself a weekend at the American Century Celebrity golf tournament, which included a cameo during a Rascal Flatts performance:

  • Ty Schalter of Lions Wire has moved on from Matt M****n and is now creating an All-Martin Mayhew team, starting with the offense.

  • A dozen contributors at MMQB combined to create a 12-team All-Time NFL Draft. Barry Sanders was taken 22nd overall, the fourth running back off the board. Other historic Lions taken in the top 100 of the draft were Joe Schmidt (44th), Dick “Night Train” Lane (45th), Calvin Johnson (55th) and Lem Barney (79th).
