PODcast: NFC North free agency recap

How do the Lions stack against the rest of the NFC North right now?

Free agency’s initial frenzy is winding down, which gives us a chance to talk about the rest of the division. In the NFC North everyone keeps an eye on one another and the competition stays tight, so the offseason should prove no different.

We’ve discussed the Lions at length, but it’s time to talk about the Packers, Bears and Vikings; and more importantly, how the Lions now stack up against them as the four teams head into the NFL Draft. This, plus the latest news from the Lions and a great mailbag, all in the Podcast.

This week on the PODcast

  • The Lions signed Jordan Hill, and we discuss what impact he might have on the team, and where he might be able to fit in on the defensive line.
  • The Minnesota Vikings had to desperately fix their offensive line. Did they do enough? Are they going to rely on their top cornerback being Terence Newman? What can the return of Teddy Bridgewater hold (if he comes back at all)? Are they still able to make a shot at the playoffs?
  • The Chicago Bears are, to put it lightly, a mess. They may not have much in the way of a quarterback, but at least they’ve got a defense? How did the signing of Mike Glennon potentially change their strategy in this year’s draft?
  • Wow! The Green Bay Packers actually signed someone in free agency! But while they may have gotten Martellus Bennett they’ve let plenty of players walk in free agency. Can they replenish their ranks?
  • Mailbag features more car talk, as per listener request, discussion of Lions draft needs and reminiscing on favorite animated shows and the history of Toonami.
