At first I was a bit skeptical at the thought of making friends online . It sounded like a James Bond thing that can never come to reality - as in "How do you 'click' a friend out or the internet"? Sounds like a crazy statement! But that's what was going through my head in those days.

When my friend showed me about a meet friends website and how he had actually got a woman who is today his wife, I said to myself - "wait a bit, did you say a wife? from the internet?" What crossed my head at that time was : How do you get penpals ,dates, life partners or serious friends from the internet with all these scams and impersonation stories going around?

So my friend explains that the website contained members who are committed to what they claim to be. So I asked "how sure are you?" - I am a doubting Thomas - so you bare with me! The simple explanation was: members pay some fee! If one is not serious he will not want spend his money on that site. Of course registration is free as in beer! But for you to communicate with the desired friend , you must pay some small amount of cash. This filters out non-serious members.

So in conclusion, if you are looking for a serious online dating partner, chances are that you might spend a small amount of money for that! When you try your meet-friends adventure next time, keep you debit card near-by
