While learning to live with Herpes, it sure doesn't help to have to deal with repeated outbreaks
Much has been written about how to reduce or even eliminate outbreaks. While I made the personal choice to not use pharmaceuticals to prevent outbreaks years ago, I don't claim to be an expert on any level to steer you or anyone else on what direction to take here. Just a girl talkin okay?......
What I do know after having Genital Herpes for almost a decade is that stress is an evil enemy when it comes to preventing outbreaks
Having just come off the first outbreak I've had since I don't know when....I guess if I look back in my older posts here I could answer that because I always seem to want to write about it when I have an outbreak, but suffice it to say, it's been a minute since a nasty outbreak has sidled up and blindsided me.
What I can tell you is this: every single time I am under a ginormous amount of stress, here come an outbreak knocking. Never fails. And because I'm so wrapped up in whatever stressful drama has taken my focus off of, well everything......Mr Herpes seems to have a sixth sense that NOW is a good time to move in and torment me further.......
So a word of advice (which I wish I would follow), please always remember that stress lowers your immune system and wrecks havoc on your health whether you have Herpes or not. Do whatever you can to manage your reaction to stress. Obviously for most of us stress is unavoidable, but perhaps the key is to identify stress and effectively manage it. You will live longer, enjoy life more and hopefully endure far fewer visits from our mutual friend, Mr. Herpes. :)
Here's a good article I found on how to identify and manage stress.
