Great news for iOS developers. iOS 8, Xcode 6 and Swift are now officially released. Download Xcode 6 from the Mac OS App Store and get started. In just a few weeks, my “Introduction to Swift” video course will be released to show you the ins and outs of programming with Swift.

Playgrounds are a great addition to Xcode 6 andmake for easy learning. Playgrounds are a real-time environment where you can see the results of Swift statements immediately. Much more than a debugging environment, Playgrounds let you prototype code, get it running and then integrate it into your code base. It is a Test Driven Developers dream. No waiting for the entire build to pass, just work on your test and the target code and away you go!
