RaspberryPi: 2.Standalone RetroPie Build

SD Card Preparation 
Preparation instructions for the SD Card to be used for the Standalone RetroPie Operating System.
Required Software:
SD Formatter v4.0 (https://www.sdcard.org/downloads/formatter_4/eula_windows/SDFormatterv4.zip)


On Windows Device:
  • Download SD Formatter v4.0 from SD Associations using the URL provided.
  • Decompress ZIP file to a temporary location (i.e. C:\Windows\Temp).
  • Run 'Setup.exe' from temporary location.
  • Click 'Next' to acknowledge welcome message.
  • Click 'Next' to set Installation Directory (i.e. C:\Program Files (x86)\SDA\SD Formatter\).
  • Click 'Install' and if prompted allow application to make changes.
  • Click 'Finish'
  • Insert SD Card into the USB MultiCard Reader.
  • Insert USB MultiCard Reader into Windows device.  
  • Start SD Formatter v4.0 (START > PROGRAMS > SDFormatter > SDFormatter) and if prompted allow application to make changes.
  • Select Drive hosting the SD Card. 

  • Click 'Format'
  • Click 'OK' to acknowledge warning message.
  • Click 'OK' to confirm format.
  • Click 'OK' to acknowledge format completed.
  • Click 'Exit' to close SD Formatter application.
