THE BATTLE LINES ARE DRAWN-A NATION IN DISTRESS

The nation is in distress as demonstrated by the image of the inverted flag. We have ceased to be a nation of laws, and are now a nation of political power. One can only guess as to what comes next, as patriots and those who remember and respect the tenants of the Constitution and its Amendments and the attendant freedoms which accompany it, and who respect the Founders for their foresight and understanding and fear of despotism and abuse of power.

Yesterday, on the 4th of July, I kept a promise to myself and reread the Declaration of Independence. Despite its "ancient" origin, which critics decry as being out of date, no longer relevant or arcane, it rings to the ears of a lover of this nation with language so sweet, and so intuitive of the human nature that none with pure heart and love of country can ignore its warnings.

It is especially interesting that while it was written over two centuries ago and aimed at a despotic English king, that many of its grievances now ring true against the very houses of Government that its successor the Constitution created, the executive branch, the congress, the judiciary. It would rant even more vehemently against the proliferation of unelected czars, bureaucrats, and faceless government lackeys who now promulgate "regulations" without the consent of congress, but given the force of law.

In Dinesh D'Souza's book Stealing America, he posits that the left, starting with a vengeance in the early 20th Century shifted its allegiance from the Constitution, in pursuit of power and money, and adopted as its founding document Saul Alinsky's "Rules for Radicals", aimed at creating a slow but progressive take over of America from the inside, using tools of financial, political, and social harm to the well functioning model under the Constitution. As they predicted, few saw it coming until more recently, and by then, using the model of enticing a substantial voting block of "takers" (those who would have the government provide for them, rather than take personal responsibility for themselves) they approach a near unstoppable ability to control the federal government.

Let's talk about just a few of the complaints of the Declaration about the monarchy, and see if they don't sound very familiar now in today's context.

1. Forbidding the passing of needed laws (read immigration regulation and securing the national borders).

2. Making government inaccessible to the people (read refusing or delaying access to government and its acts to determine validity and responsibility).

3. Obstruction of the administration of Justice (read appointing ideologues as judges to vote politically in support of the liberal policies despite those views being in conflict with the law).

4. Subjecting the citizen to authority foreign to the Constitution (read adoption of UN standards on issues such as the 2nd Amendment, foreign trade, and national sovereignty.)

5. Interfering with the right to bear arms (read gun control legislation used as a guise to disarm the electorate, creating false arguments to create restrictions on firearms purchase and ownership which have no real effect on the complained of problem.)

6. Involvement of large armies against the citizens (read the creation of para-military forces in almost every government agency, including social security administration, IRS, HUD, HEW, and many other agencies, and purchasing enough weapons and ammunition for these entities to kill every US citizen many times over. Also creating by their purchases shortages to the populous of ammunition as a back door approach to making guns owned by citizens ineffective for lack of ammunition.)

Sound very familiar of today's government don't they. Powers that were reserved to the States, co-opted based on ideological appellate court rulings, and social engineering running rampant to build reliance on government over self sufficiency to enslave citizens just as surely as the enslavement in the South of prior day.The government leaves the citizen haplessly begging for "more gruel sir" as surely as a slave owner in Georgia 200 years ago.

There are as the story goes only three types of people in the world. Their are sheep, who follow aimlessly where they are led. Their are the wolves who will happily lead the sheep to the dinner table (and not as guests), and their are sheepdogs who keep the wolves honest by putting a high price on mutton as a meal. A price the wolves are loath to pay.

Right now, this day, we are facing a endangerment of sheepdogs as a species. Politicizing the military and law enforcement, as well as government agencies such as IRS has killed true Justice. Justice now seems to be defined as what government says it is, not governed by the eternal principles which have always defined it. These were moral absolutes like honesty, integrity, the ability to act against self interest but for the good of the country, and the like. The Alinskyite war on America has all but ground out those moral values, in the name of "fairness, inclusiveness, ending racism" and such all while claiming the moral high ground, and a superior ability to know what individuals need than they themselves do.

It is time for the right thinking, common sense, standards driven American citizen patriots to stand up and say enough. We must no longer tolerate corruption in government and accept it as the status quo. We must limit terms in Congress, and take away the privilege of bureaucrats to live better than the citizens on their dime. The Founders envisioned men creating their own financial security, then having done so, coming to serve government for a season. They did not ever foresee government as a path to personal wealth, privilege and being a lifetime occupation. If necessary a national Constitutional convention is needed so long as Congress will not reform itself. We can no longer sit still for the destruction of the values established by the founders of a nation of freedoms. We must stand up, speak up, and not sit down until change occurs.
