The rough time Hope Hicks is having extends back a bit more than a year. During the Presidential campaign, when her on-again, off again, boyfriend Corey Lewandowski was being dragged thru the press after being charged with misdemeanor battery (grabbing a female reporter) and constantly making news, overshadowing his sensitive boss, Donald Trump. In a meeting with Trump and his eldest sons, Hick wondered aloud, “what she could do to help?” Donald Trump answered, “Why? You’ve already done enough for him. You’re the best piece of tail he’ll ever have!” Hicks allegedly ran from the room.
In July of 2017, Hope Hicks, now Director of Strategic Communications for the White House, found herself on a flight back from Germany on Air Force One when news broke about a Trump Tower meeting involving Donald Trump, Jr., Paul Manafort, Jared Kushner, and several Russians. She participated in the drafting of a false statement, dictated by the President, that she has had to testify about before the Mueller investigation and lawyer up at exorbitant cost.
Speed up to the present, Hope Hicks is now involved with White House Staff Secretary Rob Porter, one of the few people in the Administration not publicly implicated in the Russia probe and rarer still, perceived to be doing his job well. Then a British publication comes out with allegations that he physically abused both his ex-wives along with a photo of one with a black eye. It seems that Chief-of-Staff John Kelly knew, the FBI knew and had previously reported this to White House officials, what are the odds that Hope knew before finding out in the press? Once again finding herself drafting statements supporting someone she was involved with.
Based on her background before working with Donald Trump which was working on Ivanka’s staff. She was unprepared for the job in the first place. She’s seen two boyfriends decimated in the press and listened to widespread rumors linking her romantically to the President himself. Her previous statements about the Donald Trump, Jr. Meeting has been publicly refuted by someone about to testify before Mueller, suggesting a possible perjury charge.
Hope Hicks is having a very bad year.
