Sydney CBD Architecture Part 1

I visited family in Sydney during the December 2016 holidays. I regularly visited the CBD and walked around taking photos. I enjoyed Normcore Coffee Roasters’ coffee regularly when I was in Sydney. They are located on Castlereagh Street which was quite a walk from where I got off the bus. During the walk I took many photos. In this post I will be sharing some of them.

I took most of the photos with my Tamron 35mm lens. The lens performed well while being lightweight and easy to carry. The main downside was the slow focus speed.

All the photos were taken in RAW which allowed a bit of editing freedom in Adobe Photoshop. It makes a huge difference when taking photos in RAW vs. in JPEG.

Camera Settings: f/11.0, 30 seconds and ISO 100

This photo was a long exposure taken at night on the bridge of the highway into Sydney. It is located close to the Macquarie’s Chair which is a wonderful location for taking photos. I think this is one of my best photos I took of the city but my lens was a bit of a let down with all the glare of the lights. The tripod made walking in the city quite bulky but I did not have any problems with carrying it on the train or bus.
