Photo of the Week 151

It's Friday.  That means that it's once again time for Cramer Imaging to unveil our pick for featured "Photo of the Week."  This week, we've chosen something seasonal for you.  We've got some 4th of July Fireworks to check out.  Don't worry, your boss approves of this creative break.

Since we know that you're probably tired of seeing the plethora of beautiful firework photographs which appear on the internet during this time of year, this will be our last for this year.  We hope that you enjoy this featured photo.

We took time last year to attend one of the local fireworks shows which some of the cities around here put on.  Since we couldn't got the the Idaho Falls show, we went to the Pocatello show instead.  We were happy to learn that they had a different sponsor and dropped the monster truck vibe that they used during previous years.

I chose a city park where I could get a view of the aerial show.  I set up my tripod with my cable release and set my camera for a long exposure.  After all, fireworks are far more impressive when you can see the full burst and not just some small sparks.

I took Lots of different shots hoping to get a shot where the fireworks were visible from the initial explosion in the sky to the final flickers as the fire gets extinguished.  It takes lots of time and lots of attempts.  This was one of two successful photos out of that photo session out of a good couple hundred tries.
