Rookery Hall Wedding in Crewe

Hi there,

Here's a few images from a wedding I did earlier this year in a lovely place called Rookery Hall in Crewe. I'm actually down as a Leeds based luxury wedding photographer, so this was a bit of an early start for me.

The bride and groom in question here are Matt and Paula, who I think you'll agree look rather fabulous together.

These guys were interested in getting some arty portraits of them together and were happy for me to get creative with some far out post production techniques.  These are a blend of lit shots (I either use an assistant, or rope someone into holding a light and umbrella for me) combined with various filters and effects applied in Photoshop through layer stacking.  If that makes no sense at all, then just think of it as me sat in a dark room for an hour or so playing on a really complicated version of Instagram.

Many of the shots here were taken with my relatively new D800 camera.  Again, for non photographers this is simply a camera that is capable of taking an image that you can blow up to about A1 without losing detail.  It's quite frightening when you start with this thing, every shot being around 50 megabytes each.  You need an army of hard drives to deal with it, but the upside is that you get image quality that rivals a 25k Hasselblad (this a camera that only top end fashion photographers use for billboard shots and the like).

This was another snowy wedding.  For the ultimate snowy wedding look at my previous post. The weather didn't affect proceedings at all, but you can't help feeling a tinge of guilt when you have your bride stood outside in such sub zero conditions.  Still as I always say, the more your clients put in to it the more they get out of it.  And if they hadn't endured the weather, they wouldn't have got the mantelpiece shots that they were after. So good on them.  No pain, no gain as they say.  Ha ha, it actually really isn't as bad as I'm making out!

Anyway, enough of my ramblings, on with the pictures....

As you can see, this lot knows how to party!  I blame the Jaeger bombs personally.
