When visiting Seattle, Washington one of the things you need to do is visit “The Center For Wooden Boats”! It is located on South Union Lake and is fairly close to the downtown area.
It was founded in the 1970's, contains a museum and, is dedicated in traditional boat education for people of all ages. There are more than 170 vessels that are mainly small sailboats and rowboats.
Center For Wooden Boats Seattle (LINK) Above is the "Lotus", a yacht moored in The Center For Wooden Boats (CWB). The Lotus was built in 1909 and was the largest private yacht on the West Coast at that time. She also possessed all the latest amenities of the time: electric lighting and even a state-of-the-art intercom system. Presently, you can reserve the Lotus for weddings and parties.
