Twickenham Blue Ridge mountain wedding photography

Dorothy and Hunter

When Dorothy first contacted me about being the photographer for her Wedding to Hunter in the North Carolina mountains outdoors, I was very excited and knew I wanted to document their day. I had just shot their friends’ Tracy’s and Tyler’s Raleigh wedding, and I love all the people in their group. They are full of energy and super fun to be around. And when Dorothy told me the wedding was to be at Twickenham House in Jefferson, N.C. — nestled in the Blue Ridge Mountains in Ashe County — I knew I had to be a part of it. Twickenham is a stunning venue, with a beautiful house and guest house; stunning mountain views and hundreds of acres of property and trails. I knew a Fall wedding at Twickenham, with the changing leaves, would be gorgeous.

The day of the wedding was clear and crisp, with a high around 40 degrees outdoors. There was snow on the ground from a couple days previous, which made for some good photographic moments. Twickenham was filled with Dorothy’s and Hunter’s family and friends, who helped add all the special touches to the day that made it so memorable. The afternoon, Fall light during the ceremony was beautiful, and the mountains provided a great backdrop for the outdoor Wedding Photography during the ceremony. And, even though I know they were freezing, Dorothy and Hunter hiked the 200 years uphill after the service for some stunning wedding photos with the Blue Ridge mountains in the background. After that, the fabulous dinner and partying made the day complete. Thanks to Jeffrey Minnish for helping out with the wedding photography.

I’m so glad I got to be a part of your day, Dorothy and Hunter. You guys are amazing.
