Another latest feature that is restricted to iPhone users, for now, 3D photos on Facebook.
Facebook has introduced a new 3D Photo feature which can convert portrait shots taken on an iPhone into a 3D format. Currently, this feature is only available to iPhone users but it can be viewed by Android users as well on both phone and desktop.
iPhones having dual cameras will be able to create a 3D photo of their portrait shots. To create, they have to share the photo in the interactive mode on Facebook. iPhones that support this feature are:
- iPhone 7 Plus
- iPhone 8 Plus
- iPhone X
- Phone XS
This is a phased rollout and not everyone will immediately see the 3D Photo sharing option in the iOS app. The feature is not yet available on Android phones, even those with dual-rear cameras. Facebook is tapping into the Portrait photos, which iOS stores in a separate folder.

Users have to make sure they are using the latest version of Facebook to be able to create 3D photos.
Steps to upload 3D photos on Facebook
- Like the Facebook 360 Page and restart the facebook app on your phone
- After restarting the app, click on create a new post
- In the options where you usually see photo, video there is a new option by the name 3D Photo
- Tap on it. This will open all the portrait shots taken on your iPhone
- Choose one picture and hit upload! Viola!

Facebook has not confirmed when this will be coming to Android phones.
