Hi, I’m Gigi, aren’t I beautiful! Sadly I didn’t always look so good. When I was younger I was found in a really bad way at the side of a road. I was taken to an animal shelter where the hoomans made me well and put me up for adoption.

I was re-homed and taken back twice before my next Hooman adopted me. You see, I was very scared of everything and really struggled to settle into a home, which made me sad.

Sadly, due to change of circumstances, we found ourselves at Yorkshire Cat Rescue which is a wonderful place but…

we so wanted a home to call our own.

We were adopted and taken back yet again. We are both deaf kitties you see, so we can be very loud when we talk and I guess some Hoomans dont like that.

In 2012 when Maurice was 3 and I was 5, our furrever hoomans came along and took us home

In time I settled down and started to enjoy having a real home. In fact I was quite cheeky, I used to knock things onto the kitchen floor to wake our hoomans for food! but they didn’t mind.

Maurice and I look almost identical but we both have quite different characters.

I dont really like hooman cuddles but I show our hooman mum I love her by placing my paws on her neck and licking her face, I think she likes that.

Maurice loves hoomans and goes to our hooman dad for cuddles every morning. When he wants attention he will sit on the back of the sofa and bop the hoomans head with his paw…it always works!

Sometimes I’m a little glad that I cant hear him, when he sees another kitty in the garden, he howls at them through the window!

Maurice only went and won Reserve Best In Show, but he is, of course, just as adorable as me

We spent far too long in shelters but we are both very happy kitties now with our own hooman slaves in our lovely own home.

Anyone thinking of adding a cat to their family should check out the rescue centres…they may not appear purrfect to some but they have so much love to give
