• Kittens are to be adopted only when they are of seven to nine weeks old. Unlike dogs, kittens need more time to be with their mother. Kittens need to grow a bit old to adjust with the new atmosphere that they are sent to, so look for the age of the kitten before you adopt them

• The legs of the cat must be straight and not bent. Keep a watchful eye on it. A bend leg may be a sign of some disease or illness
  
  
• The mouth must look healthy and see that the butts look clean, ruling out any sign of diarrhea
