NomNomNow Review

I have something very exciting to share with you today. I will be reviewing NomNomNow, which is a slightly cooked, wholesome dog food service delivered straight to your dog.

This is a question I get a lot…

“But…what about COOKED foods?”

I spoke about “Raw vs. Cooked” in a post a few weeks ago, and it got great feedback. A lot of people wanted to know what products were out there for wholesome, fresh dogs foods – besides raw.

I get it – kibble is convenient. That’s why a lot of people still feed dry dog food, so what about the people that don’t have time and aren’t able/don’t want to feed raw? I have something amazing to share with you.

NomNomNow is a fresh dog food delivery service that is both convenient and absolutely fresh. Right now they are beta testing delivery to the East Coast, so I got my 30 days in one delivery, but you can choose to have your meals sent every week or month via auto delivery for the West Coast. You can cancel or change this easily within an allotted time frame on their website.

NomNomNow let me get my hands on their food in exchange for my honest review so I could give you guys a product that fits your needs, and so far – I’m impressed. Like, really!

Registering online was easy peasy – you are asked information about each individual dog you own. This is great because their meals can be portioned to their specific weight needs and activity level!

Milo must have known what I was doing. Check out the excitement on that face!

I put in their information, and automatically got a confirmation email saying my order was received and that they would be working on my meal as well as the date it would be delivered!

I also got an email letting me know when the order shipped, and once it was already delivered – great communication on their end. But, that’s not all!

The first great thing to note is that even though their meals are gently cooked, meaning they aren’t raw, all the essential nutrients aren’t cooked out either because the temperature isn’t high enough. You are able to feed them fresh, wholesome, great quality foods with convenience!

Second thing is that they are pre-portioned to my dog. As I said above, it’s portioned to Benji and Milo’s weight goals and activity levels, and I don’t have to portion it out myself. Each bag fixed per meal!

I decided to go with Porkalicious Potluck for Milo. The ingredients are as follows:

Pork: Protein, Vitamin B6 & minerals
Potatoes: Energy producing & potassium packed
Kale: A superfood for your dog’s diet
Green beans: Fiber, Vitamins A, C, K & minerals galore
Zucchini: Vitamins B6, C & K, magnesium & potassium
Mushrooms: Phosphorus, Potassium, Zinc, Copper & Manganese
NomNomNutrient Mix**: Expertly formulated nutrition blend
Fish oil: Omega Fatty Acids for a healthy coat

For Benji, since he is used to duck and is allergic to beef type products, I decided to go with Tasty Turkey Fare. The ingredients are as follows:

Ground turkey: Excellent source of protein
Brown rice: Carb & mineral morsels to keep up energy
Carrots: Vitamin A – and more – for keeping eyes healthy
Spinach: Full of dietary fiber, vitamins, folate & manganese
Egg: Exactly the protein, calcium, iron & zinc dogs need
NomNomNutrient Mix**: Expertly formulated nutrition blend
Fish oil: Omega Fatty Acids for a healthy coat

Their meals are never pre frozen, and ingredients are sourced from the USA! All of their recipes are formulated by Dr. Justin Shmalberg, Board Certified Veterinary Nutritionist, so you know you are getting a balanced meal!

We got the package and I swear the boys knew what came!

They were so excited to find out their package also included samples of NomNomNow’s other 3 formulas. “More food for me?” Their eyes said.

They had their first pre-portioned package, the 25%, to start their transition. I was curious what Milo would think of the turkey since I know he loves pork, so I tried that for both of them.

Since they are eating raw right now, I was very curious to see how they would react to this food mixed in their regular meals. I know they love raw, but would they eat around the slightly cooked meal? Skip it altogether?

Not a chance!! They gobbled it down, and were searching for more!

I stuck the packages for the next few days in the fridge, put the rest in the freezer and that was that. They are SLIM and super easy to store. They are super sleek, so it fit right in with my other frozen products.

We will be doing another review in 2 weeks to give you an update on the process and how the boys are doing. I’ll be checking their teeth, coats, breath, etc… I want the details, and I’ll share them with you!
