Panthers have been known to hunt near human settlements to prey on dogs, domestic cats, goats, sheep, cows, and pigs. In some extremely rare cases, panthers attack humans. However, humans hunt panthers much more frequently than panthers ever feed on people, and as such panthers have learned to avoid interacting with humans as much as possible. The biggest threat they face from humans is growing deforestation and destruction of their natural habitat, for logging and agriculture purposes, which has seen their numbers drastically reduce all over the world.
