How To Get A Mindset Shift

Sometimes in our lives, we need to know how to get a mindset shift. This could be due to various reasons, such as:

  1. You feel overwhelmed by everything that is ongoing
  2. You used to be performing and suddenly, you feel like you are not performing as well
  3. You are suddenly faced with the realization that you are not as good as you think you are
  4. You want to be better than who you currently are, and you believe having a mindset shift will put you in the right direction
  5. and many more…

The fact is, wanting to get a Mindset Shift can arise due to both positive and negative reasons. For me, the reason why I wanted to get a mindset shift was because I wanted to live to my fullest potential. I knew that I was capable of much more but was not putting the required amount of effort to demonstrate that to my surroundings. This post, I will touch on what I did to change my mindset, and started becoming more motivated and assertive in going after the things that I want.

How to Get a Mindset Shift

With that said, lets go in to how to get a mindset shift. These are the things I did and I hope it will help you in your journey to become a much better than who you currently are:

1. Want to Change

The first thing you need to do to get a mindset shift is to have a strong desire for change. Without that, everything else is up in the air. This strong desire has to do with your inner beliefs. You cannot be wanting to change others, as you have no control over them. You can only change yourself to accommodate your surroundings. Of course, this is not easy, and many people fall into the trap of blaming others for their mistakes. Change comes from within.

2. Consistently Remind Yourself

The next logical thing to do after the desire to change is to invoke your conscious mind to consistently remind yourself how you want to think and act. If you find yourself falling back to old habits, slap yourself out of it and tell yourself not to do it again. For example, if you get lazy, tell yourself you will win and actually win. If you get into the routine of being generous on yourself, life will not be generous on you, at least not until you reach your goals :).

3. Be around Positivism

It is very easy to fall into the trap of depression and sadness when around peers who are the same. If you desire a mindset change, change your habits. This includes everything from hanging around more positive people, to watching positive videos which can inspire you and help motivate you as an individual.

We can all be a better version of ourselves everyday. The internet is full of articles on how to be that. It all starts with being conscious about yourself and who you are. From then, you can either be better, stagnate or give up. I choose to be better. What about you?
