Whipped Cream Dyed Easter Eggs

Whipped Cream Dyed Easter Eggs!

So let me share this new super fun and creative way of dying Easter Eggs.  This is the same way of doing swirled eggs using shaving cream but if you actually want to safely eat the eggs after, you need to use Whipped Cream.  Using whipped cream to dye the Easter eggs was also an added bonus of finally getting my toddler to eat a boiled-egg! For me that is a huge bonus!  I also thought dying eggs this way was less messy.

Ingredients for Whipped Cream Dyed Easter Eggs:

  • Hard-boiled eggs
  • Food coloring
  • Whipped cream
  • Toothpick or coffee stirrer
  • white vinegar
  • Containers for the cream, vinegar and water (Tupperware)
  • Paper towels
  • Spoon, gloves or Ziploc bags
  • Spatula

Directions To Make Whipped Cream Dyed Easter Eggs:

In one container (I use Tupperware) place hard-boiled eggs in container and cover with white vinegar.  Let soak about 2 minutes. So while the eggs are soaking get your other containers prepared to color your Easter eggs.

Put a layer of whipped cream in a container and level it out with a spatula.  Then put a few drops of two different colors of food coloring in each container.  Use a toothpick or coffee stirrer and swirl the colors together.

Take the eggs out of the vinegar and pat them dry with a paper towel. Place your egg in the whipped cream and use either plastic gloves, a spoon or try Ziploc plastic bags to protect your fingers from dye.  I used both plastic bags and a spoon and found it was just easier to handle with a spoon.  After your egg sinks down in the whipped cream, you gently roll it in the dye until your egg is covered.  Take it out and place it on a paper towel to dry.

After you let your eggs dry for at least 20 minutes, dip your egg in a container of water and then pat dry with a paper towel.  That is it!! You are done and have beautiful swirl colored Easter eggs!  Easy peasy!

Hope you have a wonderful Easter and enjoy trying this fun new way to color Easter eggs using whipped cream!
