My First Teddy

I’m sharing Teddy Soft Bakes in my life as part of a sponsored series for Socialstars™ #myfirstTeddy #discoverTeddy

Every family has those funny stories that they end up telling over and over again. One of our favorites involves the very first time my oldest had cupcakes.

For the first year of his life, we strictly followed all the recommended suggestions for what to feed him. Breastmilk, plain fruits and veggies, rice cereal and oatmeal. Finger foods were usually small pieces of soft fruits or veggies. All very simple foods that didn’t need an ingredients label.

But, along comes that first birthday and of course, you have cake. I made him cupcakes and let him dig in. I can remember laughing at the pure joy on his face as he ate a fistful of sweet cupcake.

We had plenty of cupcakes leftover the next day, so I put them in a cake carrier and told my husband to take them to work.

He took them off the kitchen table and set them on a chair, for reasons neither one of us can figure out. And left them there.

My newly-one son was playing with some of his birthday toys in the living room, so I went around the corner to start a load of laundry.

When I came back, I found my son sitting on the kitchen floor, with the cake carrier open, smashing cupcakes into his face as quickly as he could.

Two things have held true since that day for all of our boys. One, we work to maintain a balance between healthy meals and treats. We see treats as just that: treats, meaning something they have every once in a while. And two, my boys instantly know whether or not they like a new meal or snack.

When they had My First Teddy, they approved immediately. What they like best about Teddy Soft Bakes is the filling in the middle, while I like that there’s no high fructose corn syrup or artificial colors or flavors in this treat. Plus, they’re individually wrapped, so we don’t have a repeat of our cupcake fiasco. Discover Teddy and find a new favorite treat for your kids!
