SAD

Has your motivation 'got up and gone'?
Feeling down after Christmas?
Can't seem to or don't want to get back in the swing of things?
Irritable?
Tired?

Then like millions of people you are probably SAD, or suffering from Seasonal Affective Disorder. It's a bizarre thing that I never used to believe in until the last few years when I started to feel it too. I wouldn't say I am depressed because I do have fun and I do look forward to stuff it's just that I can't seem to get going. I don't like to moan as it gets you nowhrere fast and just annoys other people but my 'get up and go has got up and gone'.

Every year now off and on throughout January and February while it is cold and dark and wet and windy, I just feel down and can't get motivated to do stuff, whether it be housework, washing, ironing, Guide stuff or anything else.

But the upside of this is that I know all I need to do to feel better is spend time outside in the cold, wet and wind. But it must be daylight, that is really the only cure. So strolling back and forwards to school helps, as does going for a walk when the kids are at school but really I will only feel better when the weather improves and the days get longer.

Until then, I will be a bit moody and down and will get all the basics done but don't expect too much from me until March. I am officially in hibernation!!!
