Summer breeze feels nice and it will sound great too with a handmade wind chime! Using high-quality Hygloss Products, you can make a fun and super-customizable Wind Chime that will dazzle and delight!
Supplies:
- Hygloss Kolostix Spoons
- Hygloss Lanyard String
- Hygloss Faceted Beads
- Hygloss Acrylic Gemstones
- Scissors
- Glue
Step One
Carefully cut four pieces of Hygloss Lanyard String. Three pieces should be approximately 12 inches long and one (center) piece should be 18 inches in length.
Tie a double knot at one end of the four strings together to make a “hanger”. Tie a second knot 2-3 inches further down to make the first harness piece for the structure.
Step Two
Starting with the “center” (longest) strand, start adding beads, approximately 12-15 per section before knotting to hold them in place. Be sure to hold your beads a close to the top knot as possible, see picture above.
Repeat this step for the other three (shorter) strands.
Step Three
First, glue three Hygloss Kolostrix Spoons together to make a triangle. Make a second triangle using Kolorstix Spoons and glue and then glue the two pieces together to make a star!
Next, fasten your start to your strands by looping and making a knot around the arms of the bottom triangle of the star. Make your knots tight so that the start is held in place and won’t slip when the wind blows. If you are not sure, remember that your longest strand (the center strand) will go down the center of the wind chime. Tie your three (shorter) strands to the star.
Step Four
Now that you have your star firmly connected using your Hygloss Lanyard String, trim the ends of your Lanyard string to fit! Be sure to leave at least 2 inches below your knot on each strand so that there is string dangling at the bottom.
Step Five
This is the fun part! Now you can decorate your wind chime using markers, Spangles, Gemstones, Buttons and more! Simply glue Hygloss Gemstones on the arms of your star to add some dazzle and capture the light as your wind chime gently sways in the breeze!
