How to Schedule Tweets the Easy Way

I have been on Twitter now for a year and if I am honest, I have always struggled with it. I didn’t Schedule Tweets it was just very random and when I remembered to do it.

Personally I found it very time consuming, and almost soul destroying!

With over 4k followers on Twitter, I was only posting possibly only once a week, or just retweeting old posts when I remembered.

That is until I have joined Social Oomph.

I have been looking for a something to Schedule Tweets for Twitter for a long time now, but I have always bulked at the cost. I have had amazing success with Tailwind for Pinterest, so after 8 months of blogging full time, I thought it was about time to focus on Twitter too.

There are lots of twitter schedulers out there, and I think if I am honest that is why I had not done anything about it! They all have such ranging prices, and all I wanted to do really was share my blog posts repeatedly, of course only evergreen content.

The price of Social Oomph for Twitter only is only $6.97 for 2 weeks, so effectively only £11 per month. There is no contract to sign and you can cancel whenever you want.

There is a free trial too.

How to get Started with Social Oomph

First of all you need to set up your free account.

You can stay with the free deal, however, if you want to reschedule ever green tweets you will need to opt for the Twitter Unlimited package as I have done.

Connect your Twitter account.

First things first. You of course have to connect your social account, this is simple, go to networks and connect social account.

Enable Bit.ly Links

Once this has been activated, the next thing I did was enable bit.ly short links.

Click in the posting tab and go down to the bottom and enable bit.ly shortening. Rather than have your long url it just makes it look a lot smarter. So instead of https://freddiesmummyuk.com/homeschooling-websites-uk/ it will look something like bit.ly/2Bh3wSF (don’t check this one though, as it links to a different post, but you see what I mean!)

Start To Schedule Tweets

Now you are ready to start adding in all of your evergreen blog posts. I know this is an arduous task, but remember it only needs to be done once!

So go to posting and create new update.  Personally I only tweet with images (as it is proven to generate more traffic). First you need to update your image, you can chose up to 4, but again and this is only a personal choice I only add in 1 image. Then write your text adding a link to your blog. Once you are happy with it, click on the shorten links tab underneath and it will change your blog url into a bit.ly link.

Once you have created your tweet you then decide how often and when you would like it to be tweeted. If this is evergreen content I would schedule the tweet straight away and then recurringly publish as often or as little as I wanted. There is anything from hourly  to monthly, and then how many recurrences. If it is evergreen I would leave this as blank so it permanently gets tweeted. If it is a post about Christmas for example, I would chose a date near December and change the maximum recurrences so it doesn’t post out in January!

Distribute your Tweets Evenly

Once you have added all of your blog posts go to the posting tab and click on evenly distribute updates. Be careful though as it will update ALL of your scheduled tweets, so if you have opted for some to not go out immediately make sure you check that these are correct. You can chose how often your tweets go out, either every 5 minutes or what ever you would like and you can change this depending on the day or the time of day.

That’s it! You’re all done! See it was really easy wasn’t it? I know this was time consuming, but every other time you need to schedule a tweet it will literally take 2 minutes and it will constantly be tweeted out, if you want.

So what are you waiting for? Start to schedule tweets now.
