Haunt Fest Highlights

I just thought I would do a little post covering what an amazing event I was at this past Saturday. I was a vendor and I guess a minor celebrity, at this years Harlan Haunt Fest. I had a great time and got to see some old friends and make some new ones. My table was next to fellow crypid researcher Ron Coffey.

The event was an all day affair but there were also activities later into the night if a person wanted to continue. But for me the day started at 7am and ended at about 7pm, so by then I was pretty spent.

During the event I got to meet a lot of people and I got to hear some interesting bigfoot and UFO stories. There were a number of celebrities there and all were very nice.
Ricky Morton

There was also several Q & A sessions that were pretty interesting. One session that was on the main floor, was with professional wrestler Ricky Morton. Let me tell you, I talked with Mr. Morton several times during the event, and he truly is a great guy and down to earth. He gave a great and inspiring Q & A session that the attendees really responded to. I can remember
watching him wrestle way back many years ago in western Kentucky. As I talked to Mr. Morton he told me he still wrestle 5 nights a week.

There was also a Walking Dead Q & A on the main floor that attendees took part in. Then there was a couple other Q & A sessions that took place in a separate room.

Myself & Manzo (David Saylor)
One of the more popular events was the premier of the documentary film The Manzo Shepherd Story. This is the little film I had a very small part in. I play a guard who gets over powered by some escaping convicts. The film is based on research done by TCC team member Tony Felosi. We recent posted a short over view of the Manzo Shepherd story and Tony's research, you can read that by Clicking Here. The film was directed by Chris Maggard and featured a lot of our local people as actor's in the project. Manzo Shepherd was play by David Saylor and he did a fantastic job. Dvds of the film are available and you can contact Chris on his facebook page to order. (Click Here)
It was a fun project to be part of and the Manzo case is very interesting.

Tony talking to crowd during ghost walk.
The Harlan Haunt Fest had numerous activities, everything from art contest to cosplay. The end of the event featured a Ghost Walk conducted by our own Tony Felosi. The walk takes you from the event center to the old court house. It is filled with historic information about local murders and includes the Manzo Shepherd case. The ghost walk ends inside the court house were Tony features some impressive EVPs caught while investigating the area. The ghost walk has been very popular over the last few years and this year was not different. There was around 70 people who participated in the walk that covers around 4- 5 blocks.

This was my first year attending the Harlan Haunt Fest and I had a great time. I met some good people, sold a few of my books and enjoyed the event. Thanks to those who stopped by and talked with me and to the event staff for inviting me.

Here is a short video of some highlights from the Haunt fest...it includes some short videos and pictures.

Thanks
Tom
