India is a land of culture and diversity. Traditional Indian clothing has come to prominence once again. There is so much in this country that you can’t just stuck to one. While writing about Saris and its tradition across India, I come to know that there are so many varieties in saris that it can’t get finished in a post. Moreover, every state houses at least a form of saris into its history of culture and traditional wear. Saris and it’s tradition across India-continued.

Gota Saris
Gota Sari comes from the land of sand dunes; Rajasthan. Gota a type of embroidery often uses appliqué techniques. Unlike its popularity in Rajasthan, Gota is especially a Zari made up of Golden or Silver comes from Lucknow.
Chanderi Sarees
Chanderi Sari is a form of traditional sari from Chanderi, Madhya Pradesh. Mythology says this Sari was founded by Lord Krishna’s cousin. This Sari gradually comes in 3 different fabrics; Pure Silk, Cotton Silk and Chanderi Silk. The weaving of this Sari has been started from 2nd Century.
Bomkai silk
Bomkai Silk is a tradition of Odisha, originated in the village of Bomkai, these sari is a Handloom product basically produced by the Bhulia Community of Subarnapur District. Often made up of silk this sari looks gorgeous.
Bengal Tant
Bengal Tant is a tradition of West Bengal and Bangladesh. Compare to other traditional sari; Tant is extremely cheap and ideal for Indian Summers. Weaving of Tant is an age old craft of Bengal, often made in Handloom. It is made up of fine Cotton.
Kota Sari
Kota Sari often known as Masuria in Kota, Rajasthan. Particularly this form gets produce in Kota. Kota Sari is made up of either Pure Cotton or Silk having square shaped patterns popularly known as Khats. This Sari is very light weighted and ideal for Indian Summers.
Kotki Sari
Kotki is a Sari from the land of weavers; Odisha. It is a kind of Handloom made up of Pure Cotton or Pure Silk. This kind of Saris got a pattern that is made up of number of enlarged stripes. Color combination is also a key feature of these Saris.
Kosa Sari
Kosa is a type of Silk which is widely used to make thread for Kosa Silk Saris. It is nowadays produced by the people of Central India, Chattisgarh. But long time ago it was made by koshti people of Madhya Pradesh; thus known as Kosa Silk. These saris are in much demand even outside India.
