Listen Up: What Gets The Gang Moving in the Morning

Good Morning, everyone!

No matter how alive we’re feeling during the day, it can be an ongoing struggle to rise and shine during the work week. When the blinds are down and the alarm clock is beeping into your left ear, there’s only one question to ask yourself: what’s your favorite wake up song?

Yes, the sweet remedy of music in the morning is key to many peoples’ daily routines. But everyone’s preferences are different. Do you wake up to breezy island music, hardcore metal, or the freshest hip-hop? Or do you prefer a specific podcast? We decided to ask The Gang what kind of sounds they love waking up to. Sometimes it’s a choice, other times it’s necessary.

Here it goes: The Gang’s Personal Playlist

1. Caitlyn – “Who Let The Dogs Out” Baha Men

A millennial classic, this jam puts forth lyrics that may stick in your head forever. Perhaps, this is why Caitlyn loves getting ready to The Baha Men: it simply takes her mind off of the morning struggle. Instead of stressing out about making breakfast, she gets her dance on and attempts to ask an age old question: who did let the dogs out?

2. Carmen – “Mystery of Love” Sufjan Stevens

Diverging from the Baha Men, Carmen’s choice is sure to captivate you in another way. Instead of dancing around the kitchen, Sufjan Stevens’ beautiful composition will ease you into the day’s activities. For “Mystery of Love” will also have you in a trance, for it beckons another, slightly more complicated question than where the dogs are.

3. Stephen – History on Fire Podcast, Daniele Bolelli

Stephen can’t do music in the morning. Instead, he enjoys a clearer story line. One based in the historical teachings by author and professor, Daniele Bolelli. Stephen goes through his morning routine and is enveloped in epic stories of old and new.

4. Mercedez – Mood Booster Playlist on Spotify

Yes, folks; a playlist within a playlist. Mercedez gets up and goes. And for that, she needs a jumpy backbeat with inspirational lyrics. Covering an array of genres and artists, this Spotify playlist keeps things fresh and doesn’t disappoint.

5. Colin – “Rock With You” Michael Jackson

Colin has had his alarm set to “Rock With You” for three years straight. He is surprised that this Michael Jackson hit doesn’t annoy him yet, but it never seems to get old. The vibes are smooth and dancey, a perfect blend for conquering the morning.

There you have it: The Gang’s Personal Mix. It sure does take some unseen twists and turns, but that’s what we like at Pepper Gang. We celebrate the diverse opinions of everyone and seek out new perspectives for inspiration.
