In yet another case of cow vigilantism, a man was beaten to death by a mob in Alwar’s Ramgarh, Rajasthan on suspicion of cow smuggling.
Akbar Khan was transporting two cows from his native village of Kolganv in Haryana to Ramgarh’s Lalwadi village when the incident happened on Friday night.
This is a second such Lynching incident in Alwar by cow vigilantes within a year. A 50-year-old man beaten to death about a year back.

Police recovered the body of the victim and sent it for postmortem to Alwar Government hospital and investigation has been initiated on the circumstances leading to the lynching incident.
Ironically, the lynching incident occurred after the Supreme Court directed Parliament to enact new laws to check the menace and lawmakers debated on the issue in Lok Sabha during the debate on the no-confidence motion against the NDA government yesterday.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi had urged all state governments to take strict action against those involved in mob lynching and punish them as per the law during the debate.
It may be recalled that the Supreme Court took a serious view of the growing menace of the cow vigilantes who take the law into their hands.
The Apex court termed the lynching incidents as “horrendous acts of mobocracy” necessitating news laws with enough teeth to curb and root out the menace.
“In case of fear and anarchy, the state has to act positively” observed the Chief Justice Deepak Misra.
