Questioning the “studied silence” of CM Edappadi Palaniswami over the recent IT Raids on a major construction firm, DMK working president MK Stalin demanded to know as to why the CM is maintaining silence even thought massive seizures of cash and gold were seized from Nagarajan Seyyadurai.
Stalin also leveled charges that the Chief Minister who looks after the Highway portfolio is hand in glove with one of his relatives who is the Director of the construction firm which was raided.
While pointing out that the High ways department which is falling under CMs portfolio, Stalin said and demanded that CM Edappadi should step down to facilitate transparent investigation into the IT raids and the firm involved in it.

The Chief Minister has been keeping silent and pretending ignorance and has not addressed the media about the raids Stalin said in his statement and demanded a thorough probe into the commissions received for the road contracts by the Chief Minister.
While reacting to the allegations, D. Jayakumar, senior minister refuted the charges and maintained that the raids are only related to tax evasion by the said construction company and not related to any corruption charges.
The IT sleuths though not questioned the CM’s kin whatsoever during the raids, falsehood is being spread,
Jayakumar also pointed out that the same contractor had been awarded important highway contracts even during the DMK rule.
