Did BJP ‘Help’ Nirav Modi In The Rs 280 Crore PNB Fraud Case?

The involvement of 47 year old diamond merchant Nirav Modi in Rs 11500 crore massive scam has opened a can of worms in Indian political domain.

This Nirav Modi was also pictured in a group photo of Indian CEOs with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in Davos, just 6 days before state run Punjab National Bank sent its first complaint against him to the CBI.

Interestingly, Nirav Modi had left India on January 1st and ironically, CBI received a complaint from Punjab National Bank on January 29. His brother Nishal also left India on January 1 whereas his wife Ami left India on January 6.

The whole sequence of events has definitely called for much political speculation and similarity with the series of events in case of liquor baron cum long term loan defaulter Vijay Mallya.

Added to the whole controversy, the clear case of ignorance of ED and CBI even after whistle-blower Hari Prasad SV informed PMO about Nirav Modi scam two years back, has become a hot topic of discussion. No doubt, the ruling BJP is now zoomed in media lens and the opposition Congress is not missing it out.

The Congress President Rahul Gandhi has pinpointed that PM Narendra Modi has ‘influnced’ in the whole matter so that Nirav Modi could get away with the biggest fraud in recent times. No doubt, this case seems to be a repeat of the Vijay Mallya episode.

In the Vijay Mallya case too, the NDA government has failed to initiate remarkable advancement in the ongoing legal tussle. In this case of Nirav Modi, it seems that diamond merchant was well aware of the consequences and doesn’t seem to comeback to India someday soon.

This definitely has called for an ‘existing’ nexua between BJP and the accused. Nevertheless, the Narendra Modi government faces a serious task ahead to regain confidence on credibility issue.
