Ken Bowers and friend -

To be honest, this initial posting is commercially motivated. One of the fasciinating aspects of the Internet is the pace of its evolution. No matter what you are doing, you are forced to keep pace with this evolution. It may require buying a faster, more graphic friendly computer to be able to see what's going on. Or, it may require upgrading your firewall, spyware and virus protection to keep you one step ahead of the bad guys lurking out there in the electronic jungle.

Blogging is relative new and it probably began (I wasn't really paying attention) as a method of conveying thoughts and ideas and passing information around quickly and efficiently. I'm sure the problems of spam in email was a motivator. Up until now, I've been avoiding getting involved because it meant having to learn new tricks and techniques. I'm all for learning new things, but I like to pick and choose the things that I spend my time on. Blogging seemed to be intruding, so I resisted.

Well, I just shelled out a small pile of money on a program that is supposed to help my websites get a boost in traffic. There are several tricks involved (see KenBowers/Recommends/ThePanther) and one of those is to create a blog. Blogging is eventually going to replace email marketing and this seems a good thing. So here I am and here you are and we are both learning something by being here.

One of my favorite programs on the Internet (one that is truly useful) is an online conferencing program. It's a very nice, mutli-featured program and I use it everyday. Join me in my chatroom for a quick demonstration. If you have a webcam, it'll work.

Now promoting this product offers some interesting challenges. I think the most interesting is its low cost. Orders of magnitude cheaper than competing products and therein lies the problem. For example, we have a public chat room where users gather daily for training and to exchange ideas. Today one of the members was complaining that he had a problem presenting our product to a certain corporate client, because they had just been given a presentation by a competitor who was asking $22,000 to set their program up, wanted a long-term contract with monthly charges in the thousands. Our product meets or beats every function of theirs and it's $15.00 to set up, under $50.00 per month to use and requires no contract.

You be the judge - KenBowers/Recommends/OnlineConferencing

PS - My friend and I enjoy fishing. My wife and I enjoy hiking in the desert (but not when it's 110 degress).
