Lesmurdie Falls

Today I went to Lesmurdie Falls. It was another first after nearly a decade staying in Perth. Lesmurdie Falls is pretty close to the city, less than 30 minutes drive. It was drizzling most of the time. While we could be sure there would be plenty of water in the waterfall, we had to be careful not to Fall on slippery rocks as legend has it that Mr Lesmurdie had a great fall before eventually discovering the waterfall.

The path was well marked and there were houses nearby, so you don't have to worry about getting lost. The worst is that you would end up at someone's backyard. That would be embarrassing.

The waterfall is pretty decent, at least during rainy days. Maybe different during summer though.

Another close up of the waterfall.

You could also go up the "hard way".

Near the top of the waterfall. The little one was inspecting millipedes along the way.

Perth city in the distance. It was a cloudy day, so visibility was not that great.

There are some touristy platforms at the top but unfortunately this waterfall is not high enough for bungee jumping or parachute. Don't try.

On the top of the waterfall. If you accidentally drop your shoe, it may end up in the Swan River.

Lesmurdie Fall is pretty good little excursion from Perth. It gives you a feeling of being far away but actually just a short drive away.
