Sand underfoot,

White, soft, powdery,

Fine as caster sugar,

Caresses the trunks

Of a line of palm trees, 

Beach umbrellas, ranked in serried rows,

Form a rainbow windbreak,

Under broken, cloud-filled skies,

Clearwater Beach, Florida
