Black Lives Matter: Contributions of Black American’s Outside of Slavery

This guide is for parents who want to teach their children about Black-Americans outside of slavery. While I firmly believe that Black/African-American History IS American History, I also recognize that many people do not understand that Black Americans are the backbone of our society in many ways.

Available on Teachers Pay Teachers for free, this is a weekly research notebooking unit that offers 60 suggestions of Black Americans who have changed the course of American history. Use this along with your American History curriculum- after all they are all American (or have been active in changing the direction of America).
