A Four Letter Word Day: Snow, Slow, Cold, Rain, & Home

And I look back a lot.

Snow and freezing rain today kept me from driving to my appointment at the pain clinic this morning. Not a good day to be on the roads. I tried to get psyched to do some paperwork but only managed to check our bank account and to pay a parent plus loan that I was forced to take out nearly fourteen years ago. If all goes as planned I'll have it paid off in fifteen or sixteen months.

My dad's older brother, age 88, died two days ago. His death came just two weeks after my dad's. He lived in Mississippi for most of his adult life, but he'll be buried next to his wife in southern Indiana, where they were from. My dad's youngest sister is the last of my aunts and uncles still living. My brother is opening his home to our cousins from Mississippi, up to plan and attend the funeral. He was close to our uncle and so having his death so soon after our dad's is difficult for him. He Skyped me twice today to talk.

I also had a Skype visit with D and the boys, but it was a short visit since my SIL was home. D told me that they had taken the boys to a mall playground yesterday and then to the supermarket. The boys are very interested in the different foods available. GT picked out some beet crackers and both boys love them. Also, in the checkout aisle GT, who never misses a thing, noted that someone had mixed up the candy bars and had D straighten them. He's big on keeping things together that are meant to be kept together, and at home searches for puzzle pieces and other things that are needed to complete a puzzle or set of toys.

I had only the Education unit to strengthen in order to return my French tree to gold on Duolingo, and then read another French story from Set 4: Aide Gérald !

This evening Toad and I sat and held hands as we watched Wycliffe S2E7 together. He went to bed and I watched the last four episodes & special features of Justified Season 2. Woke him to take his evening meds around 9:45pm.

Off to bed to read.  La lecture est ma grande passion.

Bonne nuit !
