I feel like the proverbial tree in the forest, falling when no one is around to hear.   Did I make a sound?   If a blogger blogs, and no one is there to read him, did he really blog at all, or is it tantamount to mere masturbation?   Will this blog even exist once I hit PUBLISH, if no one ever reads it?    Maybe there’s some deep e-place where unread blogs go to die.   I envision a hell that is like some cross between match.com and Ann Coulter’s website.   If this blog is destined to be banished to this online hell, so be it.   As I type this, I acknowledge that my eyes may be the only eyes to read it, and you know what, I’m fine with that.  My eyes are the only ones that matter anyway.

You know what, the fact that no one is probably ever going to read this blog endows me with a great sense of “FUCK IT” freedom.   No pressure to be witty, no reason to be coherent – hell, no need for spell check.   Love it.   I can just say whatever I want to say.   This rocks.   Let’s blog this bitch.

Alright – quite possibly the most boring blog entry in the history of mankind.   I’m reminded of the theory that, if one-hundred monkeys were put in a room with one-hundred typewriters, eventually they would write Shakespeare.   Not only can’t I come up with anything compelling to say in this post, but I’m quite sure that, if you put one-hundred of ME in a room with one-hundred typewriters, I could never come up with a Harlequin romance novel, much less the Bard.

Oh well, I wrote something today.   Granted, it’s less enlightening than the instructions on the back of a box of tampons, but I did write.    Note to self:   before sitting down to blog the next time, spend a bit of time THINKING about what you might have to say.   There’s a novel concept, and certainly, one worth writing home about…
