How Color Can Help You Heal

Have you ever wondered why you can be so affected by different colors? Why do you avoid clothes of some or never buy a car in another? Various studies have shown that we see things differently when brighter Colors are used compared to more neutral ones, and that Color can affect our mood. Most of us respond in similar ways to certain colors, although there will always be people that have a different reaction.
For Exercising
Red is the color to get you in the mood for exercise. Choose a red outfit and if you are walking or running, go places where there are plenty of road signs as they usually have red in them. Or go into the countryside when the red berries are out and you will feel more energized than at other times.
For Work
Neutral colors are great to work in but avoid white. Research has shown that people do not work so well when their surroundings are totally white.
For Relaxing
Green is a color we associate with nature and for most people that will have a relaxing effect. Put some green into the mix if you want to create a relaxing space.
For Home
With your home, you need to consider the use of each room before deciding on the color. Blue and green go well in a dining room because of their calming effects while Yellow is good for kitchens as it conveys joy and happiness. You also need to think of the future and how you should be decorating if you want to sell your home. Chat with a good real estate agent for advice on the best way to decorate your home with a sale in mind. They often know what local buyers will like.
For Romance
A meal for two will be even more romantic if something’s on the table are pink. You could also include pink in your clothing or jewelry to make the evening even more romantic.
For Confidence
If your confidence needs a boost for a meeting of some sort, try dressing in red and black. These together will give you an air of authority, which will give your ego a boost.
For Losing Weight
A study has shown that if you eat in a room with a lot of yellow you are more likely to overeat. Perhaps this explains why so many cafes and restaurants have yellow in their decor.
For Calmness
Pale shades of blue and green have a great calming effect. If you know you are going to be stressed over something, relax among these colors first and you will find the situation easier to cope with. They are also good to relax in after a hard day at work.
For A Better Mood
If you have been feeling a little low lately, but some yellow into the mix of colors around you. A picture on the wall that is predominantly yellow will help as this color promotes a feeling of happiness.
We all tend to decorate or buy things in our favorite color without giving the way they affect us much thought. However, perhaps it is time to consider what the different colors can do for us and then you may appreciate some of them a little more.
